Growing up in Maine is not for the faint of heart. We're strong, creative, innovative, one-with-nature, adventurous, have great taste in rare foods, and give zero Fs. Excuse my language, but as I said we are a strong people kind of like Vikings but with Moxie in our blood.

Their have been many listicles including what separates Mainer's from other states but my list is different. It's unique. It's not just about moose and lobster and our accent, it's about specific and hilarious ways you know you're a Mainer.

I was born in Pennsylvania but was bred here in Maine. I consider myself a true Mainer. I was able to experience all that this state has to offer. When I traveled to visit my family in Pennsylvania, they would ask me the most awkward questions.

"Do you ride a moose to school?"

"Are there porto-potties at the end of every street?"

"Why do you say wicked so much?"

I have gathered a few hilarious reasons from Matador Network and Only in Your State, that outsiders can tell if someone grew up in our great state of Maine.

A couple of things that personally describe me are that I was in fact, babysitting the entire neighborhood by the time I was 8, I could rollerblade like a boss in the dirt, and the first time I got drunk was off of Orloff Vodka.

Check out the 8 most unique ways you can tell that you grew up in Maine.
